"With these two big players, we will win a lot, especially in the second part of the season," he said, adding: "We aspire to what is normal and try to improve ourselves from last year."
He described Argentine coach Diego Simeone as "the best coach in the world" after leading the team to many achievements, most notably winning the Spanish league and reach the final of the Champions twice in recent years.
Atletico Madrid, on Wednesday evening, meet Chelsea in the Champions League in the second round of the group stages at the new stadium Wanda Mitropolitano.
